Local Warungs
Warungs are small cheap cafes with local cuisine, which you can find at almost every corner outside the main tourist streets, although big expensive restaurants can also be called warung(if they serve Indonesian food especially). You can rarely meet a tourist in a warung, although many expats often go visit their favorite places to grab some local food. The quality of food in different warungs may be very different, so I recommend you to visit only those places that are often visited by locals. Prices for food are about the same everywhere – 8-12 thousand rupiahs for a meal, 3-5 thousand for a soft drink. You will be able to read more details about these street cafes in the future article devoted to the Indonesian and Balinese cuisine.
