Taxi in Bali

You can easily stop or call a taxi in the areas of Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Nusa Dua, Sanur, Ubud, Kerobokan and Canggu. Taxis are very cheap and half-hour trip will cost you about 50,000 rupiahs (this is if we take a trip without traffic jams). If you need a driver for the day, it is better to agree on a fixed price, since the meter will still be much more expensive. Many people recommend using only Blue Bird taxis, but in fact this information is outdated. You can use a taxi if absolutely any company – there’s no difference, more important is to make sure that the counter is switched on in front of you. The meter should be set on 5000 rupiahs and the minimum payment for a ride when you call a taxi by phone is 15.000 rupiahs. After midnight, many taxi drivers could refuse to go on the meter and will offer a fixed price. Of course you will end paying more in this case, so either be ready to overpay (after haggling of course) or try to find someone who will use meter – it is also absolutely real but can take some time.
